People say that the eyes are the windows of the soul. Did you
ever notice Brents'. .? Without saying a word you could feel his
emotions. Sympathy, caring, interest, wit, empathy or "I'm going
to solve your problem" eyes. Never once do I remember seeing a
"your are bothering me" or take it somewhere else" look. Before
I left Louisville, I saw this legacy passed down to his son
Darin. His gentle concern for his bubbie was so touching to see.
Thank you Brent for passing along this wonderful treasure
through to your son. The world is better off for it. Brent made
a difference, a BIG diffence.

I went to second grade at Hikes Graded Elementary in Buechel
with Brent Smith. He told me jokes and ran faster than me. When
the teacher had us practicing writing, I was not doing it right
and I started crying when the teacher kept givng my work back to
do again but not telling what I was doing wrong. Brent leaned
over and told me how to do it right. I never forgot his
kindness. He was my second grade friend. The only one I remember
from that time. Even in the second grade he was beyond most of
us.

Janet, I'm so sorry for your loss. Brent was a great guy. I
truly enjoyed our friendship since first meeting you and Brent
back in the 70's at Executive Bowl.
He was a lot of fun
to be around and will be missed. May GOD bring peace and comfort
to you knowing what a great father and husband he has been to
you, Darren and Julie.
With All My Blessings !

Dear Janet, Darin, and Julie, My thoughts are with you all.
Brent was one of the sweetest men on earth. I'll never forget
his 50th birthday party, the Christmas Dinners at the Pendennis
Club (in which we had to be seperated!), motorcycle riding, and
the dinners together laughing the entire time. He will be
greatly missed by all.

We have known Brent for nearly 40 years. In all those years, in
every meeting with Brent, we have felt our lives to have been
enriched by spending time with him. He had a way of making a
person feel accepted and valued. His sense of humor brought life
to our day. It was a blessing to have known him. We will miss
him.

Jan, Marvin, and Family: We are deeply saddened by Brent's
passing. Always enjoyed his company and were friends since we
were students at U of L 40+ years ago. Never heard a negative
word about Brent. He will be missed. Glad I had the opportunity
to speak with him in the past 2 months.

Brent was one of a kind. A true friend with an incredible wit
and sense of humor. He was always available to help me in my
business or other issues. A true professional in work and family
man who loved his family and spoke proudly of them often. My
business and my life have been enhanced by having the good
fortune to have known Brent for almost 20 years. I will miss him
greatly.
